Before a word can be written, it must first be heard, felt and understood. The Orientation Space establishes this fundamental idea through a sequence that moves from silence to sound and from sound to meaningful communication.
The central circular installation and the suspended characters above the gallery create a memorable visual threshold. Together with the large display on the distribution of languages, they introduce the many voices and scripts of India before the visitor proceeds into the thematic galleries.
The space is conceived as an invitation rather than a conventional introduction: it encourages visitors to listen, observe and recognise language as a shared human inheritance.
किसी शब्द के लिखे जाने से पहले उसका सुना, अनुभव किया और समझा जाना आवश्यक है। अभिमुखीकरण स्थल इसी मूल विचार को मौन से ध्वनि और ध्वनि से अर्थपूर्ण संचार की क्रमिक यात्रा के माध्यम से स्थापित करता है।
मध्य में स्थित विशाल वृत्ताकार स्थापना तथा ऊपर लटके विविध लिपि-चिह्न एक प्रभावशाली दृश्य-द्वार का निर्माण करते हैं। भाषाओं के वितरण को दर्शाने वाली विशाल प्रस्तुति के साथ यह विन्यास भारत की अनेक आवाज़ों और लिपियों से दर्शक का प्रथम परिचय कराता है।
यह स्थल केवल औपचारिक भूमिका नहीं, बल्कि एक आमंत्रण है—सुनने, देखने और भाषा को मानवता की साझा विरासत के रूप में पहचानने का आमंत्रण।
